01 — How it grew
We said yes, then we
figured out how
None of this happened by chance. Every capability this company has started as a decision — an opportunity came in, we committed to it, and then we planned and executed our way to being the shop that could deliver it. Then we did it again.
Stainless came from the airport. Bronze came from a rescue — a temple package taken over mid-contract from a subcontractor who failed to perform, with virtually no shop drawings, on a three-month schedule. We had never fabricated a bronze rail before, so we planned it to the last detail and hit the date. Bronze has been core scope ever since, and it is the metal fewest shops in the Intermountain West will touch.
Anodized aluminum at volume came the same way: a water treatment plant in Oregon, a finish we had never run at that scale, and several anodizers trialed before one could hold the standard across thousands of feet. The customer sent us the next plant.
That is the pattern, and it is deliberate: take the work, then build the capability to own it. Nine years of doing that on purpose is why the scope list reads the way it does.
